Lost Man Returns To Search Party Friday Morning

Herman Bryant, 60, of 32 Charles street, who was reported lost Thursday afternoon when he failed to return to his truck after a berry picking expedition, found his way out of the  woods near Alex Grove and met the searching party at 11:30 yesterday morning.

State troopers reported this morning that Mr. Bryant came out onto the highway below the  Grove and was picked up by Mr. Pulinger, a motorist who returned Bryant to the cars of the searching party.

Mr. Bryant, state police stated, apparently "suffered no ill effects" from the nights spent in the  woods and returned by himself to his home.

Police and forest rangers were called out to search for Mr. Bryant after efforts of his wife and father-in-law, George Lashway, to locate him in the early evening failed.

The three had motored to Alex Grove and parked about one-half mile from Sparky’s Tavern,  then gone into the field berry picking. About 6 o'clock Mr. Lashway and Mrs. Bryant returned to the automobile and called to Mr. Bryant.

Receiving no answer they searched  briefly for Mr. Bryant and  then telephoned a relative who in turn, notified state police. Police and forest rangers searched until after dusk and had resumed their search early yesterday morning.
