Courtesy of the Adirondack MuseumThe Adirondack Swim Camp was a summer camp for boys on Jones Pond, founded in 1944 by Joseph C. Reiners. Reiners' son took over the camp in the 1960s, and changed the name to the Adirondack Swim and Trip Camp. It closed in the late 1980s.

SUMMER CAMP ON JONES POND IS RE-OPENED
RAINBOW LAKE, July 7—The Adirondack Swim camp on Jones Pond near this community reopened Thursday for its fifth summer season.

Courtesy of the Adirondack MuseumThe private camp for boys is owned and operated by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph C. Reiners of Rochester. The enrollment this season is 55 boys who come from Rochester, New York city, their suburbs, Dallas, Tex., and Hawaii.
The camp is in operation for a period of seven weeks and features a program of outdoor life and activities. Swimming instruction, boating, hikes, nature study are among the summer events for the campers.
The camp staff this year is composed of 20 college men who instruct all phases of camp life.
Guest speakers will highlight the summer program for the boys.

The former Adirondack Swim and Trip Camp on Rainbow Lake operated as a family camp facility this summer after 40 years as a boys' camp. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Reiners, Jr., have decided to move in the new direction.
