SARANAC LAKE - Adrian A, Donaldson, 82, Lake Clear, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 1996 at the Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake. Placid.
Born Sept, 9, 1914 in Lake Clear, he was the son of Charles and Cora (Pearson) Donaldson.
A lifelong resident of Lake Clear, Mr. Donaldson had been employed by Paul Smiths electric for 18 years in the 1940s and 50s. He had been a guide at Ross Park for more than 30 years, and had been a carpenter, working for his brothers, George and Clifford, and his son, Robert, retiring in 1976.
Survivors include his wife, the former Emma I. Perks, whom he married Oct 26, 1935; three sons, Roger, Richard and Robert Donaldson, all of Lake Clear; two daughters, Mrs. Beverly Bruce of Manassas, Va., and Mrs. Carol Howes of Moretown, Vt. and their, spouses; a sister, Doris Cook of Lake Clear; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by five sisters, Francis Strack, Cora Mace, Stella Prue, Ethel Powers and Violet McClain; and four brothers, Clifford, George, Clarence and Harold Donaldson.
Calling hours, will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral .home with the Rev. Arthur Goyette, pastor of the Adirondack Presbyterian Church of Lake Clear, officiating. Interment will be in the Brighton Cemetery in Gabriels in May.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad or the DARE program at the Saranac Lake Police Department, in care of the funeral home.
