Manager for new store
RAY BROOK - Alan Wamsganz of Saranac Lake has been named manager of the new Furniture Weekend store here, according to Herb Kriff, general manager of the Furniture Weekend Division of I.D Kriff, Inc.
Wamsganz had had many years of experience in the furniture business. He was associated with the family-owned CBS Furniture and Wamsganz Carpeting in the Saranac Lake area and with Decor Furniture Company in California.
He has already assumed his duties as store manager and is presenlty preparing the store for the formal opening Saturday. Aug. 27.
Furniture Weekend is located in the former John Moran Ford Building on the Saranac-Placid road in Ray Brook. The building has approximately 10,000 square feet of display space and, with the exception of a storage section, most of this area will be used to display furniture, mattresses and waterbeds.
Furniture Weekend will be introducing a new furniture retailing concept to the Tn-Lakes area with the store open only on weekends. The times will be Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.
