PROPRIETOR OF THE ALPINE TAVERN DEAD

Albert E. Foster, 38, proprietor of the Alpine tavern in Saranac Lake for the past two years, died Thursday, March 24 at the Saranac Lake General hospital where he had been a patient.

Mr. Foster had been suffering from ulcers of the stomach for some time, according to his physician, Dr. Malcolm F. Lent. Although in ill health, he had been active in his business until a few days previous to his attack.

Mr. Foster was a member of the Saranac Lake lodge of Moose, which conducted a service for him Thursday night at the James A. Fortune funeral chapel on Woodruff street.

The body was taken to St. Malachie, Canada, for burial.
