Alice Sterling French Gallup came from Austin, Pennsylvania to cure at the Trudeau Sanatorium about 1917. After her cure, and after separating from her husband, she settled in Saranac Lake with her two sons. She was the organist in a local church and a piano teacher. She lived at 4 Circle Street.

Piano Pupils Give Recital on Saturday

Pupils from the piano class of Mrs. Alice French Gallup presented a recital Saturday afternoon in the Presbyterian church house.

A brick in the Saranac Laboratory Museum has been dedicated in the name of Alice Sterling French Gallup by her grandson, Michael A. Gallup. The recital began at 3:30 o'clock and a large attendance of parents and friends were present. Taking part in the program were Barbara Wood, Patricia Burleigh, Naomi Brown, Shirley Deyo, Joan Deyo, Joan Ferrari, Joyce Kenny, June Hicks, Joyce Hicks, Suzanne McClatchie, Louise Schmidt, Odile Connor, Joan White. Also Robert Fruso, Frank Hicks, Neil Wojciak, George Reis, Frank Schmidt, Constance VanYserloo, Richard Weilenmann. A vocal solo was rendered by Stanley Wojciak.
