Anthony W. Durell, known as Tony, is pictured on the steps of Reception Hospital along with Dr. Hugh Kinghorn, Dr. J. Woods Price, Dr. Edward Baldwin, Miss Mary Prescott, Maurice M. Feustmann, and Ernest H. Wood in a group "Portrait by Acosta," presumably the staff or the Board of Directors of the hospital at the time. (Photo P 84.120-O, Adirondack Collection, Saranac Lake Free Library). An unsourced note says that Tony was treasurer of Prescott House and of the Guild.
He was a member of the Last Man's Club.
From 1953 to 1958, Emily Durell's Gifts was housed at 50 Main Street.
