SARANAC LAKE- Bernard R. Martin, 71, of 332 Shonnard St., Syracuse, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 1994, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center after a short illness.
Born in Saranac Lake, Mr. Martin had lived in Syracuse for 40 years. He was a retired truck driver and a World War II Army veteran. He earned numerous military decorations while serving as an Army medical technician.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; two sons, Bernard Jr. of Canastota and Gerald of Syracuse; three daughters, Brenda Reeves of Canastota, Gail La Shomb of Pennellville, and Sandra Mumm of Syracuse; a brother, Joseph of Saranac Lake; four sisters, Hilda Pickreign of Winter Haven, Fla., Marie Brown of Mexico, and Veleta Pelkey and Veronica Trombley, both of Saranac Lake; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Wednesday at the DeWitt Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery in Bloomingdale. Local arrangements are with the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home. There will be no calling hours.
