Brown's Livery existed at "18 Olive Street" in the early 1900s; on 1895 and 1903 Sanborn maps, on the 1908 map that address shows as 7 Olive Street.

Another source indicates that Brown's Livery was across the street from 35 Woodruff Street.

Back in the early days of this century, before automobiles. J.J. Connors of Saranac Lake published a little booklet for the information of visitors and those who had come here for their health.


Brown's Livery, 18 Olive Street, advertised twenty horses for hire with handsome, appropriate equipages and careful drivers."
