Charles C. Town, of St. Armand, served in the Civil War in Company C, 118th Regiment. He was a sawyer and blacksmith.


From the 118th records: TOWN, CHARLES C—Age, 29 years. Enlisted, July 28, 1862, at St. Armand, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. C, August 29, 1862; promoted corporal, May 6, 1863; absent on detached service in Quartermaster's Department, U. S. Colored Troops, at muster-out of company.
