Cora Norton Smith was a daughter of M. J. Norton.  As a girl, she worked at the newly established Adirondack Cottage Sanitarium. She is buried in Pine Ridge Cemetery.

WOMAN HURT IN ACCIDENT PASSES AWAY

Four weeks after she had suffered fatal injuries in an automobile accident between Works Corners and Lake Clear, Mrs. Edward Smith, 53, died at her home on the Trudeau sanatorium road, near Saranac Lake last week Wednesday. The accident occurred a month previous. Mrs. Smith, her two daughters, Helen and Marjorie. and Fred Cassavaugh, who lives on the Bloomingdale road, set out in the evening in Mr. Cassavaugh's car for a drive. Helen Smith was driving when the accident occurred. Mrs. Smith was born at Jay, February 4, 1869, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin J. Norton. Her father was the first superintendent of Trudeau sanatorium. Thirty years ago last February she married Mr. Smith and the couple continued to reside at Saranac Lake. Besides her husband, Mrs. Smith leaves her two daughters and two sisters, Mrs. Carrie A. Shene of Virginia and Mrs. Lillian Miller of Oak Creek, Ohio.
