Courtney Malmstrom

SARANAC LAKE - Courtney L. Malmstrom, 83, of Ray Brook died Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the General Hospital of Saranac Lake.

He was born Feb. 3, 1908, in Jamestown, the son of Algot and Alma (Anderson) Malmstrom.

Mr. Malmstrom had been a resident of Ray Brook for the past 40 years and was employed as an upholsterer at the Lake Placid Club for many years until his retirement. His wife, the former Isabel Smith, died in 1958.

Survivors include two sisters, Ruth Malmstrom and Mrs. Jeannette Nichols, both of Jamestown, two nephews, Richard DeKimpe of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., and Daniel DeKimpe of Claverack.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Fortune Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Mueller, pastor of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Paul Smiths.

Memorial donations may be made to the General Hospital of Saranac Lake.
