WASHINGTON, June 20. — President Taft has appointed Daniel Parish Kingsford as Superintendent of the New York Assay Office to take effect on Aus. 1. Mr. Kingsford has had a long business experience In New York City, of which he is a native. He was educated in England. He was a member of the firm of Cuyler, Morgan & Co., which went into liquidation in April.
