SUDDEN DEATH OF DANIEL A.WALSH

PROPRIETOR OF SARANAC HOTEL STRICKEN.

Saranac Lake, Jan. 3.-- Saranac Lake people were shocked on. Sunday morning to learn of the death of Daniel. A. Walsh, the proprietor of the Empire Hotel, which occurred at midnight Saturday. Mr. Walsh was apparently in good health at 11 o'clock when he chatted with friends in the office of his hotel, but at 11:30 he was stricken and he died at 12:20. The cause of death was cerebral hemorrhage.

Mr. Walsh was born in Ireland 37 years ago, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Walsh, and came to this country with his parents at the age of one year. He spent the greater part of his life in New York City, where he was connected with hotels and catering. He removed to Saranac Lake about six years ago.

Mr. Walsh was a progressive citizen and was well known and popular with all who knew him. During his proprietorship of the Empire Hotel Mr. Walsh had made many improvements in the property and had every prospect of success in his venture.

The deceased married Miss Agnes Cassavoy of Keeseville four years ago. The widow and one child, Daniel Walsh, Jr., survive. There also survive two brothers, John and Thomas Walsh, and one Sister, Miss Katherine Walsh, all of New York.

Mr. Walsh was a member of the Malone Lodge of Elks and the Saranac Lake Elks conducted a. service over the remains at the late home of the deceased. Mr. Walsh was also a member of the Saranac Lake Fire Department. The funeral services were held from St. Bernard's church.
