Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Donald Paye, whose uncle Walton Patnode lives in Rainbow Lake, has been decorated with the Meritorious Service Medal at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina.
The medal is awarded for outstanding non-combat achievement of service to the United States, Paye is a command and control superintendent with the 1701st Mobility Support Squadron.
He is a 1957 graduate of Saranac Lake High School.
