Mrs. Doris L. Doty, 69, died Friday morning at Saranac Lake General Hospital, shortly after the death of her mother-in-law, Mrs. Grace Doty. Mrs. Doty was the widow of Mrs. Grace Doty's son George.
She was born in Paul Smiths On Aug. 6, 1899, the daughter of Charles and Pearl Bennet Tyler and had owned and operated a nursing cottage at 4 McCarthy Terrace, Saranac Lake. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors are two sons, George of Gouverneur and Thomas of Ray Brook; four daughters, Mrs. Francis (Alice) Dezrengame of Ohio, Mrs. Franklin (Jacqueline) Braley of Rochester, Mrs. William (Elizabeth) Goetz and Mrs. Wendell (Shirley) Naegle of Saranac Lake; four brothers, Burton and Frederick Tyler of Lee Center and Kenneth and Wayne Tyler of Tupper Lake; 20 grandchildren three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held this afternoon at the Church of St. Luke, the Beloved Physician with the rector, the Rev. Peter Hill, officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery in Vermontville.
