SARANAC LAKE-Doris Moody Cook, 82, of Lake Clear, died Friday, May 19, 2006 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born on May 11, 1924 in Lake Clear, she was the daughter of Charles and Cora (Pearson) Donaldson.

Doris worked for her brother George Donaldson at the Fish Creek Trading Post as a butcher and later worked at the Hotel Saranac as head of housekeeping, until her retirement. Doris enjoyed cooking, especially pickling. She also enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.

She is survived by her husband Clarence “Lucky” Cook of Lake Clear; four sons:[sic] Mace Moody Jr. and, his wife Carolyn of Lake Clear, Diane Moody of Saranac Lake, Reginald Moody and his wife Barbara of Lake Clear and Sandra Vandenburgh and husband Jay  “Zeke” of Lake Clear; nine grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and a daughter- in-law, Susan Moody of Lake Clear.

She was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Mace Moody Sr.; a son, Charles Moody; and five sisters and five brothers.

A funeral service and reception will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 24 at the Lake Clear Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Clifton Davis, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Lake Clear.

Friends wishing to remember Doris may make memorial contributions to Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad in care of the funeral home.
