Douglass Dunn's Boat Proves the Winner of Wawbeek Contest.

WAWBEEK, N. Y., Aug. 25.—The principal event at Wawbeek, on Upper Saranac Lake, was the five-mile race Saturday for single-cylinder motor boats, twenty-two feet over all or less. A silver cup was offered as first prize, and the entries included Panther Point, owned by Emmett Holt; the Red Cross, by Dr. O. S. Wightman; Gilpin Bay, by Mr. Jackson; Pine Brook, by Mr. Levy; "Wanatosi," by Mr. Dunlap; Water Cress, by Mr. Merritt; Bug, by Mr. Jennings, and the boat of Douglass Dunn,  which proved the prize winner…

In the afternoon a lively game of baseball drew the visitors to the inn diamond where a team composed of E.W. Cady, jr., Charles E. Hughes. jr., William L Rich, jr,. Augustus Blagden, Douglass Dunn, Harold Mayo, H W. Veasie, Elliott Cobb and Joseph Lewis met a nine of the bellboys. The guests played a good game, but succumbed to the bellboys with the score of 9 - 7. The yacht races and ball games will be continued throughout August.

Mrs. H. M. Dunn has arrived and opened Camp Sunrise near Saranac Inn.   Mrs. Dunn is one of the charming young hostesses of the resort and always has a houseful of young people with her.
