Edgar Patnode worked at the New York State Fish Hatchery in Lake Clear, for 18 years. He also owned the Maplewood Cabins.

SARANAC LAKE - Edgar Patnode, 90, a longtime resident of Lake Clear, died yesterday, Jan. 12, at the General Hospital of Saranac Lake.
He and his wife were the owners of the Maplewood Cabins in Lake Clear, and he had been an employee at the New York State Fish Hatchery, also in Lake Clear, for 18 years.
Mr. Patnode was born in Churubusco on Aug. 5 ,1892, the son of Noel and Octive (Ezro) Patnode.
Survivors include his wife, the former Albena Poupore, of Lake Clear; a daughter, Mrs. Roy (Rita) Dupis of Tupper Lake.; two brothers, Herbert of Massena and Fred of Churubusco; six grandchildren, Mark and David Dupis, Mrs. Randy (Theresa) Dennis, Mrs. Timothey (Laura) LaRock, and Linda and Karen Dupis, all of Tupper Lake.
Four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Keough and Son Funeral Home. A Bible vigil will be held at 7:30 that evening at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m., at St. John's Church, Lake Clear, with Father John Stasiowski officiating.
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Lake Clear, in May.
