Edmond E. Mayotte, 94, of 114 Wawbeek Ave., Tupper Lake, died Thursday, January 31, 2002 at Mercy Healthcare Center.

Born March 7, 1910 in Tupper Lake, he was the son of Peter and Agnes (Dubois) Mayotte.

He attended Holy Ghost Academy.

On August 27, 1932, he married the former Hazel Haskins in Old Forge. She passed away on January 18,2001.

Mr. Mayotte worked as a caretaker from 1929 to 1945 on Upper Saranac and was then employed by Kavanagh Trucking from 1945 until retiring in 1975.

He received a “Million Mile Safe Driving” award from MACK Truck Company.

Mr. Mayotte was a member of the Outlet Hunting Club.

He is survived by two daughters, Irene Mayotte of Tupper Lake and Barbara Lloyd Duso of Southwick, MA; three sisters, Theresa Austin, Margaret Mayotte and Mary Stewart, all of Tupper Lake; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Hazel; his father and mother, Peter and Agnes (Dubois) Mayotte; seven brothers, Wilbert, Arthur, Albert, Paul, Hubert, Clarence and Robert; three sisters, Gertrude,Pauline and Francis and two sons, Peter and Arthur.

Calling hours took place at the Fortune-Keough-Rennell Funeral Home on Sunday, February 3 with a bible vigil service taking place at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial took place Monday, February 4 at 10 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church with Rev. Donald Kramberg officiating. Burial will be in the St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Tupper Lake in May.

Friends wishing to remember Mr. Mayotte may make memorial contributions to the McCauley Unit, Mercy Healthcare Center in care of the Fortune-Keough-Rennell Funeral Home in Tupper Lake.
