Dr. Edward Pfarre was a physician in Saranac Lake. He was one-time physician to the New York Yankees and was known as a physician and surgeon in New York City prior to coming to Saranac Lake for his health around 1914. He had also previously accompanied J. Pierpont Morgan, Sr., on a worldwide trip as his private physician. He and his wife are buried in Pine Ridge Cemetery -- for reasons unknown, they share their plot with the unmarked grave of Harry L. Fridman, Sr..

SARANAC LAKE, N.Y., Jan. 11 (AP) -- Dr. Edward R. Pfarre, one time physician to the New York Yankees, and widely known as a physician and surgeon in the New York area, died yesterday. He was 54 years old. Dr. Pfarre came to Saranac Lake fifteen years ago because of his health.

Dr. Pfarre had a distinguished professional career including association with a dozen different hospitals and clinics in the metropolitan area. He accompanied the late J. Pierpont Morgan, Sr., around the world as the financier's private physician on the trip.

He was keenly interested in sports and active in fraternal circles from his college days.

Dr. Pfarre was born in Brooklyn in 1874.
