Eivind Hansen was one of a group of Norwegian merchant seamen curing in the Sageman Cottage in September of 1942. For a column named "Cottage Calls," The Guild News interviewed him: Eivind Hansen was our last call. He has been here a month and commented again on how much Saranac resembled Norway. "Norway is home," he said, "and I am anxious to go back. But next to Norway, America is the best place in the world."
