Elaine Leahy was a life-long resident of Saranac Lake,  She worked as a bookkeeper for many years at various local businesses, including the Leahy Dairy Farm.

Elaine T. Leahy, a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at her residence on Trudeau Road. She was 95.

Born in Saranac Lake on July 1, 1925, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Eva (Disco) Talbert. Elaine graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1942. She attended Albany Business College. Elaine worked as a bookkeeper for many years at local community businesses, including the Leahy Dairy Farm. She had a strong commitment to her aging family members and cared for them in their time of need.

Elaine married Ronald N. Leahy on Nov. 27, 1946. Together they loved the outdoors and spent many years skiing, swimming and playing tennis. Elaine and Ron loved a good story and a great laugh.

Elaine is survived by her son Paul (Eileen) Leahy and her daughter-in-law Becky Leahy, all of Saranac Lake, as well as four grandchildren and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Richard Talbert, her husband of 55 years, Ron, and son Michael.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home. At Elaine’s request, there will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
