Eleanor Dayton

Miss Eleanor Dayton, 56, a newspaperwoman and editor of trade publications, died Saturday at Jewish Memorial Hospital in Boston after a prolonged illness.

Miss Dayton was a graduate of Barnard College where she majored in journalism. She had held positions with the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, the Ashville, N. C. Citizen-Times, the New Orleans Item, and the Boston Evening Globe.

For ten years she was editor of the company newsletters of the Farrington Manufacturing Co. and the Sylvania Electronics Co., having the responsibility of publishing a monthly newsletter circulated among employees and stockholders of the companies.

She was born in Saranac Lake, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Dayton and was a graduate of Saranac Lake High School.

Her mother, Ethel, who now lives at the Westledge Nursing Home in Peekskill, survives.

A memorial service will be held at 8 p. m. Friday at the Keough and Son Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Lawrence F. Selig, pastor of the ["Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in Pine Ridge Cemetery.
