SARANAC LAKE - Frances E. Connors, 91, of 60 Church St., Saranac Lake, died Friday, July 27, 2012, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born in Clay on Jan. 15, 1921, she was the daughter of Felix and Elizabeth (Sawyer) Yelle. Frances married Edward Connors in July 1970 in Saranac Lake. He predeceased her on Oct. 6, 1979.
Frances was a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake and had been employed as a nurse's aide at various facilities including the VA Hospital in Albany, Gabriels Sanatorium in Paul Smiths and Uihlein Living Center in Lake Placid for many years until her retirement in 1986. Frances was a member of the Saranac Lake Moose Club and the Saranac Lake Lanes.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty Donaldson of Saranac Lake; six grandchildren: Robert Donaldson Jr. and his wife Tami, Patty McDonough and her husband Darryl, Mary LaClair and her husband Chris, Kelly Donaldson, Bonny Engelhardt and her husband Bryan and Bill Donaldson; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, one sister, Edith Frisbee, and three brothers: Fred, Erwin and James Yelle.
Calling hours will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A Ladies of the Moose Club service will take place at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bill Muench officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Lake Clear.
