Francis Burke

Francis Burke, owner of Burke's Lake Flower Motel in Saranac Lake, died last evening-about 6:45 in Saratoga Hospital. He was 55 years of age. Mr. Burke was born in New York City on Feb. 15, 1907, a son of John and Sarah Pattnoe Burke. He taught business subjects in schools at one time and was manager of the Ward Lumber Co. in Jay for 14 years. He came to Saranac Lake in 1953 and was married on November 14 of that year to Mrs. Josephine Gauthier.

Besides his wife, Mr. Burke is survived by three sons, Jack,in Spain, Edward at St. Mary's Seminary in Baltimore and Joseph of Saranac Lake.; a daughter, Beverly of Suffern, and four grand-children. He also is survived by two step-children, Mrs. Connie Juranick of Saranac Lake and Mrs. Sandra Coppolo of Syracuse, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Richards of AuSable Forks.

An Elks Service will be held at the Fortune Funeral Home at 8 p. m. Thursday and a Third Degree Knights of Columbus Rosary Service at 9 o'clock. A Solemn High Mass will be offered at St. Bernard's Church at 10 a. m. Friday. Interment will follow in Holy Name Cemetery in AuSable Forks.
