This photograph was published a third time with a caption reading "Francis N. Kondilis, a member of the U. S. Marine Corps from Saranac Lake, who has been promoted to the rank of corporal. He entered the service March 3, 1943, trained at Parris Island, S. C. and has just completed an aviation ordnanceman training course at the Naval air center in Memphis, Tenn. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. N. C. Kondilis of this village."
It was published a fourth time, with a caption reading " Sgt. Francis N. Kondilis of the Marine corps who has returned to Saranac Lake following discharge from active service. He saw three years of duty with the Fourth Division Marine Air Wing and served in Tokyo. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Kondilis of Broadway."
