Francis Thomas Gardiner came to Saranac Lake in 1928 for his health; he managed the Tousley Liquor Store for many years starting in the 1930s.

SARANAC LAKE - Frank T. Gardiner, 68, of 56 Riverside Drive died early Sunday morning at Saranac Lake General Hospital.

Mr. Gardiner had been manager of the Tousley Liquor Store since the 1930s. He was born in New York City, a son of Waiter and Rebecca Kelly Gardiner, and came to Saranac Lake for his health in 1928.

On Nov. 8, 1992 he was married at St. Bernard's Church by the late Rev. Vernon Doe to Olive Lascore who survives him.

He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 590 and B.P.O.E., Lodge 1506, working on fraternal and community projects for both organizations.

In addition to Mrs. Gardiner, a sister, Mary A. Gardiner of Astoria, survives.

Friends may call at the Keough and Son Memorial Chapels this evening from 7 to 9 o'clock, and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. A Knights of Columbus service will be held at 7:90 p.m. Monday and an Elks service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. A Bible Vigil will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be offered by the Rev. C.J. McAvoy at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard's Church. Interment wilt be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
