George K. Whitman
George K. Whitman, 63, died Tuesday in Sodus, Mr. Whitman was born Nov. 2, 1900 in Saranac Lake, a son of Alvin and Margaret King Whitman.
He was employed st the Saranac Lake Post Office in the parcel post department for 30 years and retired ten years ago. From 1922 to 1939 he was a member of the National Guard and when the Guard was called to service in 1939 he went along as a second lieutenant. He served as a recruiting officer and was discharged in 1947 as a first
Survivors are his wife, Josephine Conroy, and a sister, Mrs. Blanche Pender of Syracuse.
Friends may call, beginning Thursday, at the Fortune Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held there at 11 a. m. Friday with the Rev. Peter O. W. Hill, rector of the Church of St. Luke, the Beloved Physician, officiating. Internment will be in Harrietstown Cemetery.
