George Randolph Packard, Jr. was a summer resident of Lake Clear for many years. He bought Camp Gricoq and 106 acres on Gull Point, selling it in 1954. He served in the U.S. Navy.

George R. Packard
George R. Packard, a summer resident of Lake Clear for many years, died of pneumonia yesterday morning in Philadelphia at the age of 62. Mr. Packard was in the insurance and real estate business in Philadelphia.
Survivors include three children: George who is secretary to the ambassador to Japan; Parker who was associated with his father; and a daughter, Mrs. Montgomery of Baltimore. Three sisters, Mrs. Ben Blagden, Mrs. Herbert Church, and Mrs. Drayton. also survive.
A funeral service will be be held in Philadelphia. Mr. Packard's family request that memorials be made in lieu of donations.
