George Watkins, Jr. SARANAC LAKE - George Watklns, Jr., 70, died Friday at Saranac Lake General Hospital.
Mr. Watkins was born March 9, 1906 in Brooklyn, the son of George Watkins Sr. and Rose Durfee. He was a retired circulation manager for a New York publishing house.
He was an army veteran of World War II and a member of the Knights of Columbus, house number 599, and the American Legion.
He is survived by one brother, Philip R., of Valley Stream, one sister, Mrs. Isabel Gnad [sic] of Sarasota, Fla. several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Watkins will repose at the Keough & Son Inc. Memorial Chapels 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. today. There will be a bible vigil service at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Keough & Son Memorial Chapels.
Members of the K of C are asked to meet at the funeral home at 7:20 Monday evening. Mass of the Resurrection will be offered Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. at St. Bernard's Church, Rev. Thomas Driscoll officiating. Interment will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
