Mrs. Gertrude M. Rafferty Latour was active in social and civic affairs. She was a daughter of John Rafferty.
As a member or members, James A. Latour and his wife, Gertrude, were named in the sale of Pontiac Club property to the Saranac Lake Boys' Club, Inc., in 1917.

Mrs. Gertrude M. Latour, Native of Constable, Was Active in Social and Civic Affairs in Saranac Lake—She Had Been in Ill Health For About Two Years.
Saranac Lake, March 31.—Mrs. Gertrude M. Latour, 54, wife of former Franklin county assemblyman, James A. Latour, died at her home, 185 Broadway, at 5 yesterday afternoon. She had been in ill health for nearly two years but was strong enough to walk downstairs for dinner Tuesday. Late in the evening she became worse.
Mrs. Latour was the daughter of the late John and Mary Cahill Rafferty of Constable, where she spent her childhood and received her early education. Following her graduation from the Constable elementary schools, she attended and was graduated from Chateaugay High school.
She was married to Mr. Latour on Oct. 7 1907, 1 in St. Francis Roman Catholic church at Constable and later came to Saranac Lake with her husband. The couple made their home at 34 McClelland street for eight years following their marriage. They then moved to their present home.
Active in social and civic affairs, Mrs. Latour was also active in St. Bernard's Roman Catholic church, of which she was a communicant. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary society, the Catholic Daughters of America, the Village Improvement society, and Saranac Lake Women's club and the Women's Voters league when the two latter organizations were in existence.
Her husband, and three children, Mary, Tuffield, and George, all of this village, and a stepson, Leon, also of Saranac Lake, survive, also four sisters, Mrs. Augusta Burrell, Saranac Lake; Mrs. M. E. Monaghan, Malone; Mrs. Margaret Butler, Long Lake, and Mrs. D. T. Buckley, West End, N.J.
