MRS. P. A. GOULD DIES AT AGE 97
Mrs. Grace H. Gould, 97, of 94 Riverside Drive died yesterday at her home after an illness of four years.
Mrs. Gould was born in Brookline, N.H. on July 12. 1864, the daughter of George and Lydia Sawtelle Hobart. She was married there in 1885 to Perley Gould and they moved to Saranac Lake in 1897. Mr. Gould was manager of Paul Smiths Electric Company here from then until his death in 1950.
She was a past matron of the Eastern Star and a past royal matron of the Order of the Amaranth and a life member of both. She was also a life member of the Reviewers Club.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Leonard Houghton of Saranac Lake, Mrs. Harley Cook of Wynnewood, Pa. and Mrs. Pearl Roedel of Paramus, N.J.; a son, P. Allen, Jr. of Audubon, N.J.; a sister, Mrs. Florence Perine of Brookline; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call all day today at her home where there will be a service this evening at 8 o'clock. The [Rev.] W. James Erdmann, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Interment will be on Wednesday in Pine Grove Cemetery in Brookline.
