FORMER SL MAN FUNERAL RITES
H. Stanley Parker, former resident of Saranac Lake and owner of the Alta Visla Lodge here for many years, died at 6.30 p.m. yesterday at the Scarsdale Lodge in Scarsdale.
Funeral services will he held Monday at 3 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, Scarsdale. The body will be sent to the Cemetery of the Church of St. John's in the Wilderness, Lake Clear, where a burial service will be held Tuesday morning, Rev. Sidney T. Ruck, of Lake Placid, officiating.
Mr. Parker was born in Murfreesboro, N.C, in 1879, and started his hotel career when he became associated with Chamberlain House, at Old Point Comfort, Va. He later purchased the Rock House in Rutland, Vt.
Mr. Parker came to Saranac Lake in 1920 and purchased the Alta Vista Lodge which he operated until 1943 when it was sold to its present owner, Camilo Panerai. At that time, Mr. Parker moved to Scarsdale, where he purchased the Scarsdale Lodge. He retired last year and has spent the past year at his home in Ft. Lauderdale. Fla.
Mr. Parker is survived by his widow. Margaret J. Parker; a daughter. Mrs. Frances J. Stein, both of Scarsdale: a sister, Mrs. May E. Wheeler, Nokesville, N.C. and three grandchildren. Mrs. Parker is the sister of Mrs. C. F. Loesch, of Turtle Pond.
