Harland Branch, also known as Harley, was a potato farmer.  He was a child of Joseph H. Branch and Jennie Nichols Branch.  He is buried in Harrietstown Cemetery.

He appears to be no relation to welder and pipe fitter Harlan Branch.

Harland Branch

SARANAC LAKE - Harland H. Branch of 61 Bloomingdale Ave. died yesterday afternoon at the Saranac Lake General Hospital.

He was a life long resident of this village, where he was born on Feb. 1, 1902 the son of Joseph and Jenny Branch.

He is survived by his wife, Sara Raymond, whom he married on July 1, 1925. Two sons, Frederick of Nyack, Gerald of Saranac Lake, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Fletcher of North Hollywood, Cal. and four grandchildren.

He operated the Branch farm on Trudeau Road until his retirement in 1966.

He was a member of the Masons, Lions Club and the Fish and Game Club. He was a Town of St. Armand Justice of the Peace for 20 years and a trustee of the Lake Colby School for many years.

Friends may call this evening and Friday evening at the Fortune Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Eric King, pastor of the first Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in May in the Harrietstown Cemetery.
