Harry Howard Brown, mayor of Bloomingdale for eight years and a member of the village board for 12 years died in his sleep last night at his home there. He had been ill for a long time.

Mr. Brown, also a carpenter and a service station operator, had been retired. He was born June 11, 1889 in Bloomingdale, a son of Allen and Edith Sanders Brown. On May 15, 1910, he was married to Jessie Vassar who survives him. Also surviving are two sons, Clayton and Everette of Bloomingdale; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. William Stephenson of Bloomingdale; a brother Elmendorf Brown of Saranac; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Fortune Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A service will be held at the funeral home at 2 p. m. Wednesday with the Rev. Kingsley Yauger, pastor of the Bloomingdale Pilgrim Holiness Church, officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.
