SARANAC LAKE - Helen E. Anderson, 86, died on Sunday, Feb. 21 at Uihlein Mercy Center, She was a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake.

Born Aug. 25, 1912 in Riverview, she was the daughter of Victor and Lena (Strack) Rabideau of Plattsburgh. She was a bookkeeper for many years for Newman and Holmes in Saranac Lake, retiring 1986.

Survivors include one daughter, Charlene Williams and her husband, Robert of East Alburg, Vt.; one son, Bailey Anderson and his wife, Sharon of Sparta, N.J.; two brothers, Leo Rabideau and his wife, Mae, and Lawrence Rabideau and his wife, Tess; one sister, Jeannette Reeves, all of Plattsburgh; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Anderson was predeceased by her husband, Alton B. (Tony) Anderson, whom she married in 1940. Mr. Anderson was the former mayor of Saranac Lake. She was also predeceased by five brothers and sisters, and a grandson, Duane Williams in 1986.

A memorial Mass was to be held at St. Bernard Church today. There will be no calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to High Peaks Hospice or the Franklin County Visiting Nurses Association in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake.
