Henry K. Moody was a great grandson of Jacob Smith Moody.  He worked as a guide and as a caretaker at a camp on Lower Saranac Lake.

SARANAC LAKE, Henry K Moody, 75, of 48 Crossfield Ave., Saranac Lake, died Saturday, July 23 2005 at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid.

Born on May 18, 1930 in Saranac Lake, he was the son of Henry and Rose (Facto) Moody.

He married the former Dorothy Rochester Brown Oct. 1, 1988 at St. Bernard's Church in Saranac Lake.

Henry worked as a caretaker for Camp Massapequa on Lower Saranac Lake and was a fishing guide in the Adirondacks. He was also a caretaker at various camps on Miller pond. He retired in 1994.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and working in his flower and vegetable garden. He also operated a sugar house on Lake Kiwassa where he made maple syrup.

He is survived by his wife, two step-daughters, Patricia Fox and her husband Bill, of Belleville, Ontario, Canada and Marjery Lawton and her husband Dick of Baraviai, two step-grandchildren Marcie Yarbray of Jamestown, .N.C: and Schoen LaBombard and his wile Linda of Wyantskill; a brother, Alfred and his wife Corrine of Saranac Lake; several step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers: Ross and William Moody and his sister, Belle Porter.

Calling hours will take place from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A Bible vigil will be held at 3:45 p.m. today at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will take plate at 11:15 Wednesday, July 27 at St. Bernard's Church, with the Rev. Patrick O'Reilly and the Rev. Patrick Ratigan officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Saranac Lake.

Friends wishing to remember Henry may make memorial contributions to the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad in cane of the funeral home.
