SARANAC LAKE — Herbert A. Shatraw, 86, 42 Baker Street, died early this morning at Saranac Lake General Hospital.
He was born in Ellenberg Center, the son of Israel and Delia Bombard Shatraw and was married to the former Anna Elliot who died in Saranac Lake in December, 1975.
He was employed as an agent for the New York Central railroad until his retirement in 1955 after 37 years of service.
Surviving are three sons, Herbert, Jr. and Malcolm of Saranac Lake and Stewart of Syracuse; six grandchildren; two brothers, Ovid of Cadyville and Wilfred of Albany; two sisters. Lena Wood in Virginia and Maria Shanty in Churubusco.
Remains repose at the Fortune Funeral Home where friends may call tomorrow from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Burial will be in the Pine Ridge Cemetery.
