The Hob Nob was a restaurant and bar owned by Adeline Isabelle Quigley at 81 Broadway, the Potter Block, from 1959 to 1964. In 1965, it became the Swinging Tiger.

Fire At "Hob Nob" Causes Some Damage

Twenty-five firemen from the Saranac Lake Fire Department responded to a call at 2:19 this morning from the Hob Nob Restaurant in the Potter Block, at Broadway. The fire, according to Fire Chief William Davis, started from a lighted cigarette which was left lying on a shelf under the bar.

Part of the bar was burned and there was considerable damage from smoke and water.

LICENSE SUSPENDED

The State Liquor Authority has suspended for seven days, July 20 to July 27, the liquor license of the Hob Nob Bar and Grill, Broadway, Saranac Lake for violation of the sale of alcoholic beverages to a minor law. The owner, Adeline T. Quigley, did not contest the penalty.
