Homer Tyler was a World War II veteran.  He was a son of Fred Tyler and Myrtle Kent Tyler.

SARANAC LAKE. Homer N. Tyler, 58, of Paul Smiths died Sunday morning at Saranac Lake General Hospital.

Mr. Tyler had been the chef at Paul Smiths College for 25 years. He was born in Vermontville the son of Fred and Myrtle Kent Tyler. He was a member of Whiteface Mt. Lodge 739, F and AM Wanneta Commandery 82, Order of Amaranth, American Legion Post 197 of Brighton and American Legion Post 447 of Saranac Lake

Survivors are his wife, Louise, a brother, Luke, of Vermontville; and nieces and nephews.

Friends may call this evening from 7 to 9 at the Fortune Funeral Home. A Masonic service will be held at 5 o'clock.

The funeral service will be at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev Eric King, pastor of the Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery in Vermontville.
