SARANAC LAKE – Homer V. Amell, of 21 Hope St. died Thursday evening. Jan. 8.
He was born in Paul Smiths on Nov. 30, 1922, the son of Paul and Olive (Mose) Amell.
He had been a heavy duty equipment operator until his retirement and was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary (Hogan) Amell of Saranac Lake; three sons, Thomas of South Carolina, and Clarence and Kenneth of Saranac Lake, and a foster son, Brent Rushlaw, also of Saranac Lake.
A daughter, Susan, of Saranac Lake; two brothers, Isadore and Raymond of Bloomingdale, a half-sister, Alvina Patnode of Newcomb; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Calling hours will be at the Keough and Son Funeral Home tomorrow from 7 to 9 p.m., and again on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral will be held Monday at 11:15 a.m., at St. Bernard's Church, with Father Yonkovig as celebrant.
