Dr. Howard Bucknell was from East Hampton, Long Island. He built Sunset Camp on Upper Saranac Lake. He was the son of Emma W. Bucknell, who built the lodge, and William Bucknell, for whom Bucknell University is named.
In 1952, he caught a 23-pound, 37-inch lake trout on Follensby Pond
