Mrs. John H. Walsh of 7 Olive Street died yesterday in the Saranac Lake General Hospital after a short illness. She was 77.
The Roman Catholic funeral service will be at 8 a.m. Saturday in the Methodist Church. Friends may call at the Fortune Funeral Home, this evening and Friday. A Rosary will be said Friday at 8 p.m.
Mrs. Walsh, born Annie Imogene Russell December 31, 1891, in AuSable Forks, was the daughter of Dr. John C. Russell, a former mayor of Saranac Lake, and Elizabeth Brenan Russell.
In Saranac Lake, she was she secretary to the superintendent of schools, after which she and her late husband operated two businesses.
She was for 20 years a member of the staff of the Saranac Lake Federal Savings and Loan Association, retiring in 1961.
Mrs. Walsh was a past president of the Democratic Women's Club and was active in the Business and Professional Women's Club of Saranac Lake.
Survivors include three sons, Robert G. Walsh of Saranac Lake, John R. Walsh of New Hope, Pa., and Gene H. Walsh of Demarest, N.J.; one daughter, Mrs. John M. (Alice) Kennedy of Now York City; one brother John S. Russell of Maple wood. N.J.; one sister, Mrs. Harold J. (Aileen) Harris of Westport, N.Y.; one aunt, Miss Kathleen G. Brenan, formerly of Saranac Lake and now living in Lake Placid; and five grandchildren.
Interment will be in Pine Ridge cemetery.
