Isadore J. Amell was a World War II veteran.  He was a son of Paul and Olive (Mose) Amell of Redford.

SARANAC LAKE — Isadore J. Amell, 61, died Sunday morning. Aug. 31, 1986, at Saranac Lake General Hospital.

He was born Feb 7, 1925, in Redford, the son of Paul and Olive (Mose) Amell.

Mr. Amell was a lifelong resident of the area and made his home in Bloomingdale. He was an operating engineer and worked for Local 106.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of American Legion. St. Paul's Church, and he played baseball for the Brighton Blues.

Survivors include his wife, the former Irene Wells, two sons, James and Patrick; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Carole) Snickles: nine grandchildren, and a brother, Raymond: all of Bloomingdale and a sister, Olivina Patnode of Saranac Lake, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fortune Funeral Home. A Bible vigil will lake place at 8 p.m.

A mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's Church, Bloomingdale, with the Rev. Patrick Mundy, officiating.

Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Saranac Lake Rescue Squad.
