John C. Little was an attorney, who lived at 15 Neil Street.

John C. Little, 89, who practiced law in Saranac Lake from 1895 to 1960, died Thursday morning after a long illness.
He was born Sept. 10, 1873 in Port Henry, son of John and Myra Lobdell Little and was educated at Port Henry High School and Sherman Collegiate Institute and began reading law in the office of P. C. McRory and E. T. Stokes at Port Henry. After he was admitted to the bar in 1894 he was made manager of their office.
In 1896 Mr. Little came to Saranac Lake and opened an office here in partnership with F. G. Paddock of Malone. The partnership was dissolved in 1896 and Mr. Little continued his practice alone.
He was a member of the board of directors of the Federal Savings and Loan Co., of the Franklin County Bar Association, of the Saranac Lake Presbyterian Church and a life-long worker for the Republican party.
He joined the Masonic Order in 1897 and was master of the Whiteface Mountain Lodge in 1904 and 1905 when the temple was built on Broadway. In 1940 he was elected to the office of District Grand Master. The lodge honored him twice — in 1953 when he had been a member 56 years and in 1957 when he celebrated his 60th anniversary with the lodge. He was given credit then for organizing lodges in Lake Placid and Tupper Lake.
Mrs. Little, the former Mabel Pattinson, is deceased. They were married in Clintonville on Oct. 28, 1903.
A son, John C. Jr. of Rochester survives. Also surviving are three grandchildren, John C. II of Tariffville, Conn., Peter D. and Molly S. of Rochester; two great-grandchildren in Connecticut and nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Fortune Funeral Home where a Masonic Service will be held this evening at 8 o'clock. The funeral service also will be at the funeral home at 2 p. m. Saturday with the Rev. Thomas Woodward officiating. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery.
