Note:

  • Envelope postmarked December 15, 1930 exists, but no letter.
  • A Christmas card was sent December 22, 1930, It is a picture (drawing) of a family, mother, father and two daughters, one about 8 the other about 15. They are dressed in winter attire (hats and scarves). The eldest daughter holds sheet music, the father a big song book. They are flanked by two brightly glowing candles. The drawing is trimmed in holly and red berries. Underneath the family it says Yuletide Greetings. The caption reads:

In the old-fashioned manner

with words just a few

To wish MERRY CHRISTMAS

and a GLAD YEAR for you.

The card is signed simply: Jack

  • Envelope postmarked March 2, 1931 exists, but no letter.

There were also, no doubt, countless letters to parents, friends, brothers and sisters, but I have no access to them. After Jack died, his widow and Jack's family had a parting of ways, and had no further contact. His mother (who would have been my great grandmother), lived to a ripe old age, but unfortunately I never knew of her existence until she died.

I believe I was in high school or college at the time. If anyone has any information on this family, please contact me at: [email protected]. Thanks.
