Lieut. James R. Davidson was a World War II veteran.  He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Davidson and a brother of James Davidson.

LT. COL. RETIRED, U.S. AIR FORCE:

Age 83, died Friday, March 16, 2001 at his residence. He was a native of Saranac Lake, NY and a resident of Fairhope since 1978. Mr. Davidson graduated from New York University with a graduate degree at University of Buffalo and Columbia University. Jim served in the Air Force during WWII and later served 28 years in the Air Force Reserve. He was a charter member of Flotilla #36, and the U.S. Coast Guard. Jim was also a member of the Retired Officers Club, Eastern Shore Art Association, Quail Creek Civic Association, Springhill College Heritage Society and St. Lawrence Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Walker Davidson of Fairhope; one step daughter, Martha Miles of Spanish Fort; one step son, Alvin (Myriam) Farrar of Tallahassee, FL and five step grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, March 19th from 9:30-10:30AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 AM. Celebrant of the Mass will be Father Gregory Lucey. Interment will follow at Fairhope Colony Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Medical Hospice, P.O. Box 1090 , Daphne, AL 36526 or Catholic Social Services, P.O. Box 870, Robertsdale, AL 36567 in memory of Lt. Col. James Davidson. Arrangements by BAYVIEW FUNERAL HOME, Fairhope, AL.
