James Farrisee

SARANAC LAKE - James V. Farrisee, 77, died Wednesday, May 22, 1996 at the Hamilton Manor Nursing Home where he had been a resident for the past several years.

Born July 5, 1918 in East Orange, N.J. he was the son of James H. and Nellie (Nolan) Farrisee. Mr. Farrisee was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

A Summer resident of Gabriels for many years, Farrisee was a Rochester area resident for 56 years and had been employed as a machinist for Delco Products for 40 years before retiring in 1981. He enjoyed camping and the outdoors.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former May Carter, on Oct. 26, 1980.

Survivors include a half-sister, Mrs. Margaret Londra of Woodside; a nephew Michael Londra, also of Woodside; and a close friend, Nicholas Rodak of Rochester. He was predeceased by a brother, Harold "Bud" Edward Farrisee, and a sister, Helen Marie Farrisee.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Tuesday, May 28 at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m Wednesday, May 29 at the Church of the Assumption, Gabriels, with the Rev. Arthur Trombley, pastor, officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Rochester Humane Society or the Tri-Lakes Humane Society.
