Funeral services for Dr. John Allen Munroe, 60, of Saranac Lake were held at the Church of the Beloved Physician on Wednesday afternoon. The well-known member of the dental profession died at his home early Sunday morning.

Dr. Munroe was a past prelate of Adirondack Commandery, 82, Knights Templar of Lake Placid and a delegation from this village attended the services.

Besides his membership in Whiteface Mountain lodge, Dr. Munroe was a past high priest of Wanneta chapter, No. 291, Royal Arch Masons, of Saranac Lake, and a member of Oriental Temple, of Mystic Shrine, of Troy.

He was also well known in professional circles in Montreal and as a member of various dental societies.

Dr. Munroe, who had lived in Saranac Lake for 28 years, was one of the founders and an active member of the Saranac Lake Curling club. His connections also included membership in the Saranac Lake Chamber of Commerce, Turtle Pond club, and the Saranac Lake Golf club.
